Let's stop the "Blame Game" & get real !
Please give this post serious consideration before believing
anything further you may read about the destruction
of our planet due to our general use of it's resources
& unavoidable bodily functions !
It is ridiculous to blame the rapidly disintegrating Ozone Layer
on cow farts, pig poop & the pollution of burning wood & fossil fuels !
Although every creature that eats develops gas, that it must eventually pass ine way or another,
and has found this necessary since the beginning of time,
and even before mankind burned anything for any reason,
oil and tar broke through the earth's surface & burned.
Erupting volcanoes & uncontrolled wildfires also polluted the air.
The earth's upper atmosphere remained safe & intact.
Check old hard copy library books.
"Internet Facts" change all too easily to suit the times.
Although the people of the world have greatly reduced all known
air pollutants within our control since the hole was discovered,
and we were made aware of it, the pollution rate has drastically dropped,
BUT the hole in the Ozone Layer has grown,
and of course Global Warming, at an astonishing rate since.
Not coincidentally, at the same time we were busy cleaning up our planet,
the world's use of aircraft & spacecraft rose rapidly !
The hole in the Ozone Layer was not in existence before
the existence of aircraft & spacecraft.
Every spacecraft pierces through the Ozone Layer to break free of the earth's atmosphere.
Let us not dismiss all the pollution & unspent fuel released in our upper atmosphere from all air & space craft.
Let me simplify these facts with a simple demonstration
using common articles easily attained:
Compare spacecraft piercing through the Ozone Layer
to a knitting needle piercing a pair of pantyhose.
But first compare a fart ! Lots of them ! ! As many as you can ! ! !
Take your time ! Give it your best shot ! Borrow a cow !
Recruit your rankest smelling friends to participate !
There is no time restraint on this experiment ! !
Try poop ! Any poop ! ! Go borrow a farmers pig if you like ! ! !
Use plenty ! Make sure it really reeks ! ! Let the fumes rise.
Do not allow the poop to directly touch the hose, of course.
Now try any non corrosive aerosol spray !
Air Fresheners & Deodorizers would certainly be appropriate by now ! !
Remember the aerosol alone is suspect, so do not spray anything harmful to pantyhose.
(Later you can pour unspent fuel on them if you'd like to see the effect !)
Don't forget to burn oil, coal & tar far below that pantyhose,
keeping them safe from the heat & flame of course,
because it's the fumes we are testing here, not the heat or flame !
None of the above will readily & steadily destroy the nylon (silk ?) hose !
Now decide what is the cause of the hole
that is about to destroy the earth as we know it !
Do you still so readily accept the notion that
cow farts, pig poop, aerosol spray, car fumes and even backyard barbecues
did all that damage up there in our upper atmosphere ?
I certainly do enjoy the result of our past efforts.
Cleaner air is wonderful to breathe !
I am absolutely in agreement that
developing & using clean alternative energy
& vehicles that do not need expensive foreign oil to operate is imperative.
We have all innocently been funding terrorists for years & it must stop !
Since the composition of the Ozone Layer is known,
and the fabrication of a reasonable facsimile is possible,
there could be a way to patch the damage,
much the same way other damage done by man can be repaired.
Of course, repairing the existing damage would prove useless
while simultaneously creating further & worse damage by ongoing space traffic,
so spacecraft that has the ability to close the hole in the Ozone Layer it makes,
would be an absolute necessity for any repair of the Ozone Layer to be effective.
Refer to the pantyhose example above. If one person repairs the existing holes while yet another continually makes new holes the tattered hose will never be usable !
Anyone waiting for that special someone to come up with the "magic cure" to stop Global Warming is dreaming ! PLEASE DO WAKE UP ! !
While it is obvious what the problem is & steps necessary to repair the damage
are known, the time is running too short, and the effort & money it would take will not likely be approved while the likelihood of escape from dealing with this mess is a less costly reality for those so empowered.
The space program is not likely to stop for any reason, especially now that the possibility of those with the ability to leave this disintegrating planet & live elsewhere is so nearly a reality !
Most of humanity will not have the wherewithal to pay passage to a safer place. We will be left here to deal with what ever happens next. The rest of us must now concentrate our efforts in finding a way to deal with the mass destruction most of us did not create, but will have to live with, if we wish to survive.
SO LET US NOT BLAME
INSTEAD LET US FRAME
A PLAN FOR OUR SURVIVAL
AND HOPE FOR OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE.
